NCCPM has provided scientific support to the NHS Breast Screening programme (NHSBSP) in a co-ordinating role since 1991.

NCCPM works with medical physics departments throughout the UK to collect and analyse data on the radiation doses and performance for all the equipment used by the NHSBSP.

NCCPM is led by a consultant physicist and is based in the Department of Medical Physics in the St Luke’s Wing of the Royal Surrey County Hospital.
